How to Make Delicious Vegan Hibiscus Tacos
1. Make Hibiscus Tea
Start with making your Hibiscus Flower Tea by adding 4 cups of water to a small pot. Bring it to a boil. Stir it and reduce the heat to low. Then, allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let it steep for 10 more minutes. Strain out the flowers and enjoy the Hibiscus Tea hot or store it in a mason jar in the fridge.
Keep the Hibiscus flowers for the tacos you’re about to make.
2. Make Your Vegan Hibiscus Tacos Filling
To prepare your vegan Hibiscus tacos, rinse the Hibiscus flowers again for 30 seconds. In a frying pan, add the sesame oil and sauté the onion and garlic until tender. Add the smoked Paprika, Cumin, and Black Pepper along with the Hibiscus flowers and continue to sauté until it’s heated. Turn off the heat and add the soy sauce and the sugar.
3. Assemble Your Hibiscus Tacos and Enjoy!
To assemble your vegan Hibiscus tacos, add the Hibiscus taco “meat” you’ve prepared in step 2 above to warm tortillas. Add the chopped lettuce and avocado along. Top them with garlic mayonnaise and Cilantro. Optionally, squeeze a little lime on top and add it on the side as decoration. ENJOY!
